Handicap International Belgium (HIB) is seeking a highly motivated Lao national for the position of: Assistant UXO Program Manager

for its UXO Program, whose objective is to reduce the threat of UXO through removal, risk education and victim assistance in the three most ffected districts of Savannakhet province, namely Nong, Vilabouly and Xepone.

Based in Vientiane with recurrent travels to Sepon (at least 30% of time).

Main responsibilities are:
a. Assist the UXO Program Manager to manage the UXO Program.
b. Assist with the production of work plans, budgets and reports;
c. Conduct regular monitoring of project activities ;
d. Ensure centralization and capitalization of all documents developed by the UXO program;
e. Assist the UXO Program Manager in human resource development including that of the partner;
f. Second the UXO Coordinator in communication and coordination with authorities and other stakeholders;
g. Prepare and organise external visits to project site

Qualifications and experience:
a. Bachelor degree in Business Administration or any relevant subject.
b. At least 3 years working experience in project management at senior level, preferably with an INGO, NGO; experience in the UXO sector is an advantage.
c. Demonstrated planning and work plan formulation skill; proven competence in report writing
d. Fluent knowledge of English (oral and written).
e. Excellent analytical skills
f. Leadership and ability to work proactively and with initiative
g. Commitment and dedication to humanitarian work and knowledge of UXO sector an advantage
h. Very good knowledge of Windows MS Office.
