Radio Coach / Translator

Khoun Community Radio for Development, Xiengkhouang Province
1 year contract

The Khoun Community Radio Support Project offers an exciting work opportunity for a highly motivated radio coach / translator. Your role will be to work with volunteers to run a community radio that broadcasts programmes for the local communities, made by the local people.

Main Responsibilities
• Mobilize, coach and assist volunteer broadcasters in production of radio programmes;
• Support the station management and Board of the Khoun Community radio;
• Translate documents (reports, letters, notes, training materials etc.) from Lao into English and vice versa;
• Provide interpretation
• Provide other kinds of support to project and station managers, as required

Requirements
• Enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to inspire!
• Degree in English or social science
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Lao;
• Advanced computer skills;
• Experience with media and/or radio is an advantage
• Motivation to work at provincial and district level.

Remarks
The successful candidate can expect to receive training on the job.

Duty Station
Xiengkhouang – Phonsavanh Capital or Khoun District with extended travels.
