PSI is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address the health problems of low-income and vulnerable populations in more than 60 developing countries. With programs in malaria, reproductive health, child survival and HIV, PSI promotes products, services and healthy behavior that enable low-income and vulnerable people to lead healthier lives.

PSI Laos is searching for a Lao national to fill the position of Researcher. The Researcher will assist in research tasks to support health-related programs, such as HIV/STI and malaria prevention. The research position will be based in Vientiane Capital with periodic travel to program sites in other provinces.

Responsibilities:

* Participate in planning, design, and implementation of research studies; * Analyze, interpret, and draft reports for qualitative and quantitative studies; * Summarize draft reports and prepare presentations for research projects; * Organize trainings for fieldworkers; * Monitor fieldwork activities; * Coordinate with research agencies and stakeholders;

Requirements and qualifications:

* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field such as research, statistics, development or in a relevant field of social science; * Fluency in Lao and English; * Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude; * The ability to learn new skills; * Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet); * Knowledge of SPSS would be an advantage.
